Albert Einstein's birthday is Pi day. He was born on March 14, 1879. it is not confirmed nor denied if he liked "pie" more then "pi." 



 In 2005, Lu Chao of China set a world record by memorizing the first 67,890 digits of pi. It took him over 24 hours to recited all of the digits, and over a year to memorize all of them.

William Shanks (1812-1882) calculated the first 707 digits of pi. He made a mistake after the 527th place and all the following digits were wrong.

Pi is an irrational number (which means that is cannot be represented exactly by a fraction). This was first proved in the 18th century.

Pi is the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet just as P is the sixteenth letter of our alphabet.
